Peter Stokkebye 312 Toasted Burley is a new addition to the lineup. This nutty Burley is gently toasted which helps to remove bitterness and adds more depth to the flavor. This is a particularly good tobacco to use when you want to lighten the flavor of a blend. Pressed, sliced and tumbled out to a broken flake appearance, Toasted Burley is great on its own or blended with other tobaccos.

It's fine. Nothing special, but I didn't expect special. Thanks.

True Burley
This is an excellent Burley, true to Burley's distinctive character. Both in the jar and in the pipe, it's a true Burley experience. I sometimes just open the jar to take in its aroma. It reminds me of walking into my grandfather's tobacco barn in western Kentucky when it was filled with the harvested plants hanging to dry. Burley was his cash crop, and the barn was filled with it's characteristic aroma. The sensation of it lives in my memory, and Stokkebye's Toasted Burley brings it all back in the best way.

I love burley tobaccos. This
I love burley tobaccos. This one is fantastic. No bite. Great flavor. The room note is pleasant. It’s a shame that this blend has been discontinued. I feel Stokkebeye makes great blends. This one included. I too enjoy Luxury Navy Flake. I suppose there is Cavendish in this one that probably smooths the edges of the other component tobaccos.

Spicy Toast
A good burley with a spicy touch. Has the earthy, nutty burley taste you’d expect and then an after tingle of spice. Very nice.

A great easy all day
A great easy all day burley. Sip it slow for the traditional burley notes to come through.

Good burley smoke either by itself or for blending

I Like It!
I'm a burley guy. Like plain, unadulterated burley. Was smoking OTC burley blends and was happy but most of them were just blends or contained some type of flavoring. After a search came across 312 Toasted Burley. What's not to like? Just burley, natural flavor, good room note, burns well, no bite, Must I go on? I like it. I prefer to rub it out a bit more before smoking but that is my preference. Oh! and it's economical as well!

Wonderful smoke
Has a mellow classic burley taste and great natural warm tobacco room note. As a blending tobacco this really shines as a great base. I have used 3oz of this mixed with 1oz of PS Highland Whiskey. The result is an extremely mild semi-aromatic mixture that I use all day. Ships fast and with no problem. Thanks!

Like the previous reviewers say, this is indeed very good. I rubbed it out a bit more to roll up into cigs. works quite well! Can't beat the service here, I'm a very happy customer

This Is The One !
Been smoking pipe for a very long time and always go for the non-aromatics. I used to use Mac Baren products pretty much exclusively but have been experimenting lately to broaden my range a bit. I ordered a sampler of this Stokkebye product just recently and this is THE one. Rubs out nice, lights easy, smokes smooth, consistent, and burns completely. Nice smoke and aroma. Really enjoy a bowl full of this while out working the land. I'm going back for a truck load !

Great tasting burley
This was the first time I had tried this burley. The method used to prepare this burley was unique which produced a very favorable soak. Will include it in the regular rotation of burley blends.

What tobacco is supposed to be
I'd heard great things about this blend, so when I saw it was available again, I grabbed a pound. The tin note is fantastic. Nice light nutty cocoa smell. This is the first non-aro I've been able to smell through the box before I opened it. Cut is a nice ready rub that you can load in your bowl, or rub out further. Lights nicely, and stays lit well. It doesn't knock your socks off with flavor, but it just tastes like a solid tobacco. Lightly sweet, nutty, cocoa, earth. I've been reaching for it a lot lately. Great stuff!

Glad it's back
One of my favorites. I thought this one was discontinued for good. Glad to see it back!

Outstanding Pipe tobacco
I needed a burley to go in my virginia based blend to improve the smoke. This burley worked fine in controlling the burn and increasing the smoke volume.

Smooth, Slow Buning and Flavorful
This is one I will keep reordering! It is great on its own and adds depth to other blends.

Toasted Treat
I love the nutty flavor of this tobacco! I find it is suitable for any season, be it spring, summer, fall or winter. It reminds me a bit of Ky Club without the topping. I smoke it straight, no need to blend with anything else. I find it smokes best in a traditional freehand pipe.

Thumbs up
Some burleys are peppery, some are bitter. This is neither. It tastes like it smells in the jar. Bread, cocoa, and a little sweet. Like all tobaccos it’s worth the time to pick out the stems for pure flavor. Being a broken flake, and great quality/flavor this is a hell of a deal. My favorite PS so far following Natural Dutch Cavendish, Dark fired, and luxury twist flake.

A Man's Smoke
I absolutely love this stuff! From the first charring light, I knew this would become one of my all-time favorites. It has a wonderful nutty flavor and a pleasant aroma. Light enough for an all day smoke and robust enough to remind you of the time when men were men and smoked men's tobacco. I smoke it straight--no need to blend it with anything.

Pretty nice blend
This blend is all burley with no topping that I can discern. I'd say it is a medium strength blend with a nice, mellow, typical burley taste. It does have a bit of a nicotine hit, maybe slightly above moderate. It lights and burns well and the moisture content when I received it was just about right. Good, mellow, nutty flavor at a very good price. I think this would also be a good base blend to mix with other tobaccos. In fact, if you combine this tobacco with Virginia and Perique in the right proportions, you might come close to something like Haunted Bookshop (I just might give that a try). I recommend this blend.

Mix with a little aromatic and about 1/10 Turkish to make a nice blend similar to PA or Carter Hall.
Very mild.

A wonderful smoke
This is a great tobacco. A very cool, slow burning every day kind of smoke. If you like burley, you will probably love this. I smoke it in different types of pipes, it seems to work well in them all. The nicotine level will satisfy without being over the top. A slight sweetness can be detected but is not overly done by any means. I have no doubt it would be a great mixer if one chooses to use it that way. Just buy some and smoke it, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended!!

A Great Smoke
This is wonderful tobacco. It has enough nicotine to satisfy and the nutty burley flavor is there. I smoke it in a cob and get no bitterness at all. If you’re a burley fan, just buy it, you won’t go wrong.

Burley and nothing but burley
As a mixer to cool or slow down another tobaccos burn this is very nice and will work very well. Smoked straight it needs a slight bit of something else for flavor. Nothing real heavy or far out. I think some of the OTC blends with this would be great. Also Stokkebye B&B as it isn't heavy. Maybe a bit of Trout Stream? Try a 1:4 ratio and see how that does. Slow in a cob it's cool and smooth.

Bare bones burley
This stuff is wonderfully simple. Think Prince Albert, minus any additives. It has a definite cocoa aroma to it, which is less noticeable in the bag than after being transferred to a Mason jar. I love the broken flake presentation...I usually clump and stuff this much like I would Mac Baren Virginia No. 1. It can bite me a bit if I push it, but that is my chemistry, and may be different for others. This is a great blend stretcher and very good on its own. This blended with Stokkebye Natural Dutch Cavendish and a healthy pinch of Perique, yields an amazingly good smoke that you would swear was an aromatic. A solid four stars, and a staple in my cellar. A good, basic, earthy smoke that plays very well with other tobaccos.

Excellent
Excellent blending tobacco like all Peter Stokkebye tobaccos meant for just that. For a real treat try a mixture containing 70% Virginia, 20% perique,

Good tobacco
Really nice, alone, or even better mixed with the Dark Kentucky 50/50. Smokes slow and cool. The flavor is subtle, no vanilla or cherries, just tobacco.

Full of flavor. Going in full rotation immediately.
This is another one which is immediately going into full rotation. If you like Orlick Dark Strong Kentucky, you'll love this. Though obviously not exactly the same, this broken flake has rich qualities similar to DSK. Very pleasant room note, tin note and absolutely full of flavor. I personally like this better than DSK. Absolutely full of flavor and delicious. No steam burn. Smoked in a Italian-made basket briar with a billiard shape bowl.

It tastes like Granger without the casing. Very good everyday smoke.

I smoke this in a corn cob pipe. It has a thick smoky flavor, has very little bite and lasts a long time.
