For all of the P&C Faithful who were concerned that Dunhill tobaccos had disappeared forever - good news! The blends are back using the same exact blends and tobaccos, coming from the same factory. The only thing that's different is that they are now under the Peterson name. Even the classic artwork remains.
Of all of the Peterson tobaccos, My Mixture 965 is a true classic, even having been inducted into the Pipe Tobacco Hall of Fame. Great Virginias are blended with select Macedonian Orientals and a good amount of rich Latakia. What sets 965 apart is the addition of brown Cavendish, which deepens the blend and adds a subtle hint of mellow sweetness.
Not for the faint of heart is what I'll say on this. Maybe it's just my tolerance but I find this respectably full BUT I will say this is a great blend. It's very flavorful rich and smooth for a "medium full" bodied tobacco. If you like a no nonsense good mix this is for you
Greetings my Friends, I wanted you to know how very quickly my shipment arrived. I can't wait to try this blend (MM 965) as well as many other Dunhill and other mixtures from your firm. I am so delighted you are there, and wish you all the best. Dr. M
It's a nice, mild smoke. Burns reasonably well right from the opening of the tin. Subtle finish. Does not overpower. I enjoyed it quite a lot.
Good smoke. Didn't enjoy it as nearly as the hype for it forecasted.
Very good tobacco.Classic English with a clean taste. High class all the way. A must try for all enthusiasts.
Just like I remembered it 30 years ago. Got away from latakia blends but this brought me back, great tin aroma and nice room aroma. Easy on the tounge .
This blend is absolutely delicious! It is smooth, nutty, and semi sweet!
To start with this is a medium to light English blend. I'm not a huge fan of Latakia because most blends I have tried the Latakia has been quite overpowering but with this blend the Latakia doesn't overpower the other flavors but seem to compliment them. even if you don't usually smoke English blends I would suggest giving this one a try. I believe this tobacco will appeal to a wider range of smokers than is usual for most English blends.
Probably my favorite Dunhill. While I enjoy Nightcap, this is a great all day smoke. Smooth, flavorful and a great room note. Bulk is as good as tin.
This is my all time favorite blend. I smoke it year round!
Very heavy and full flavor. Good complexity. Not for the faint of heart or empty stomach. Makes a better night excursion. Packs too much of a punch for lunch and if taken in too quickly can make you light headed.
I just cracked open this tin I purchased a while back and now I am sorry I waited! Subtle flavors and scents throughout my initial smoke have led me to consider this as one of my top five blends. Hints of cedar, incense, and peat make for fine room notes. Flavors include rich notes of coffee, toasted walnut, and even a slight hint of single-malt scotch. I'm thinking of buying bulk when this tin runs out.
A flavor reminiscent of Dunhill London Mix, which is the gold standard of English mixes for me, but lighter and milder in flavor. It's a good choice for a primary tobacco, and then enjoy your special blends at your leisure.
Nice blend, I'm learning to love it a little alien to my taste but every time i smoke it i notice suddle nuances of flavor then nutty aspect is somewhat of a mystery in a enigma but im waiting to expand my knowledge upon its flavors :D by the way second type of tobacco I've ever tried I'm a newbie if you will and my first blend was an aromatic house blend at my pipe shop.
