Norman Rockwell Portrait

Introducing a collection of new pipe tobacco from the great Norman Rockwell. The first in the series is Portrait which is a tin that you will want to keep even when you have finished the tobacco. The tin features one of the iconic paintings that Norman Rockwell is known for. The tin is filled with a rich, traditional, American burley blend with notes of cocoa that has a mellow sweetness. We have no doubt that you will not only love the tobacco but the collectability of the tin itself.

The Best
Blew my Cult Blood Red Moon away. This tobacco has such a rich sweet natural flavor. Only tried it because it came with a package. Had no desire to replace a jar of some Christmas tobacco I've been smoking for a year, but when I tried this, that jar turned into an ashtray. Doesn't put much of a fragrance out for those around you, but the flavor is definitely there.

I enjoyed this blend but was expecting more flavor. The cocoa notes are definitely there but I was hoping they would come through a little stronger. All in all it was a good change of pace from my normal aromatics.

No bite if you keep
No bite if you keep it burning cool, great flavor. Love all the Norman Rockwell blends, just wish we could get them in bulk.

Love this tobacco. The cut
Love this tobacco. The cut is great. This has become one of go to. Love the tribute art on the can. My impression of this one is it can be enjoyable on cold days and early mornings.

Tin
I enjoyed it very much. Honestly bought because of the tin but flavor aroma is nice.

This is a good blend
This is a good blend of tobacco. Not the greatest ever made but an all around decent smoke. I'd buy it again and would recommend it to anyone curious about this blend. Not sure what old Norm smoked but I think he'd be happy with this one.

I really like it. If you are looking for a great, tasty smoke, you wont regret this. Its not complex; Its simply good.
I have a crippling fear of buyers remorse. I was hesitant to buy this because I was worried that I was getting suckered into it by the Rockwell gimmick. I was interested in a toasty burley though because I haven't really had a burley forward blend before. I took the plunge and have NO regrets. This blend tastes as it is described above: toasty, well bodied tobacco flavor, with a hint of chocolate. It stayed true throughout the bowel. Very satisfying. It smokes easy and stays lit. It doesn't bite me at all--In fact I think it is especially worth noting: This is not a goopy aromatic. The only thing that I think may turn some people off is that it is simple. You will not sit and ponder this blend, picking out different notes of this and that. Its burley (great volume, satisfying body, toasty) with virginia (sweet/caramel), with LIGHT cocoa note. Not complex but great all the same.

I love it!
Great smoke. I love the cocoa notes. The deep rich flavor is great for an anytime smoke.

Meh
I found this blend to lack flavor. Also, it seems to burn hot. Its profile is leathery with cocoa notes, but, like I said, it's bland overall. I'd try something different next time.

Cuppa Joe in the Navy.
I saw the reviews, and wanted to try something other than aromatic. My first impression is yes the can upon opening smells a bit like beef jerky pepperyness with an underlying sweetness like cocoa. But the taste is another matter. When I smoke this brand it kind of feels like I am back in the Navy and having a nice cup of Hot Black Coffee (No creamer or sugar) & having my first cigarette right before the morning rush. The nicotine hit is a minor note but it complements the bitterness of a hot cuppa. Very enjoyable!

Deliciously Abstract
This was an interesting smoke. After lightning a good number of bowls I still can’t pinpoint exactly what I’m tasting. There is definitely a cocoa/chocolate flavor that dominates, but past that, the rest is a mystery to me. I suppose that makes it intriguing enough to try another tin.

Notman strikes again
As soon ad i opened the tin i knew i was honna love it. Ton note had that leathery atoma from an old fashioned cobbler shop. Very tasty peppery beefy eith s touch of sweetness, comparable to teriyaki beef jerky. And who doesnt respect norman Rockwell. Cant wait to try others

Epitome of the Burley Blend
What all the traditional burley blends aspire to be. This is the pinnacle of the “Americana” style burley. Delicious, easy to pack and keep lit. Perfect humidity out of the tin. Pure smoking pleasure with a nice cocoa top note that never steps over the line of tasting artificial. Fans of burley with a cocoa, hazel nut taste profile should not miss out on this wonderful blend.

Great Burley blend
This blend in my opinion is the quintessential Burley blend. Great cocoa/nutty, great room note, and no trouble keeping it lit. No harshness whatsoever throughout the entire bowl. Will be buying again whenever I get a craving for a Burley tobacco.

Wonderful Stuff
Upon popping the tin I was greeted w/ a sweet smell. Hard to describe other than maybe a nutty chocolate. Instead of being overly descriptive, I will say this... I wish that tub tobaccos taste like this. This is what OTC burleys are supposed to taste like. Room note was warm, nutty-sweet, toasty... like a good burley. Moisture content was perfect from the get-go. Smoke had good body and it has a nice jolt of vitamin N. This stuff is top shelf in my book.

Great Burley Taste With A Hint of Grass
Agreeing with other reviews, the cut is perfect enough to fit in most bowls wonderfully. Taste isn't too harsh or too mild. Nice cocoa topping and aroma. Excellent burley taste with a hint of grass from the Virginia. Definitely recommend this Norman Rockwell blend. I would likely buy it again in the future once I finish the tin.

Great tobacco
Delicious burly taste. Not too mild, but not too heavy. Has a sweeter taste for the first half of the bowl. Perfect cut and packs beautifully. Smokes well, only relit because I wasn't tamping it down enough. Overall a good blend, will buy again.

Well blended tribute to a legend.
What a great concept, keep the Norman Rockwell pipe tobacco coming. A nicely blended lovely tribute to an amazing artist. I can't wait for more Rockwell tobacco to be released.

Just As Described
I bought this tin for my wife, the artist, who adores Norman Rockwell. On a whim, I loaded a pipe yesterday...just to try it out. The mild, cool smoke was brightened by chocolatey and malty aromas and flavors. I think Norman would approve!

Norman Rockwell Portrait pipe tobacco
I bought a tin of this stuff on a whim, and boy, did my hunch pay off! My favorite aromatic of all time is Cult Abacus, and Norman Rockwell Portrait is a too-close-to-call second place! Wonderful. Smooth tasting. Nice aroma for standers-by. Stays lit. No bite.

Nice tin
Ok I’m very new at pipe smoking. With that said I do like this tobacco but I mostly bought it for the tin.

Worthy of its namesake!
A smoke as smooth and comfortable as a gallery full of Rockwell’s work. Smooth, mellow, with a slightly sweet finish. Wonderful cocoa notes. Norman would approve!
