When I came up with Bold Rum, I was thinking of rum flavored truffles, but I didn't want to include chocolate in the blend. So I started with naturally-sweet bright Virginia, smooth white Burley so it would absorb the flavorings, and soft black Cavendish to keep it cool. Then I took the zestiest Jamaican rum flavor I could find and softened to edges with warm, rich vanilla. The result is flavorful and creamy with a pleasant room note.
