Sutliff Dulce de Leche

Dulce de Leche is a creamy dessert with a rich caramel flavor. Sutliff's Dulce de Leche brings that warm flavor to your pipe with a blend of select, sweet Virginias and smooth, mellow Burleys that capture the caramel essence. The brown sugar-like flavor is noticeable, but not overwhelming, and the room note is a definite crowd-pleaser. If you enjoy the dessert, you're going to love Sutliff's Dulce de Leche.

Oh so smooth
A very pleasant tobacco here. The tobacco flavor manages to make it through the outstanding but almost too heavy topping. Great on its own, even better when mixed 4:1 with a toasted burley blending tobacco!

Everything is perfect
Thank you for my first order at Pipes&Cigars. Good job!

Sutliff Dulce de Leche mild yet tasty.
Dulce de Leche is a very nice and mellow smoke. Does have a flavor similar to the dessert. No bite for me. It makes for a nice morning or evening smoke on the front porch. No strong room/porch note, just nice.

Better as a blender than smoked alone.
I found when smoked alone it was not as desirable as when blended. If it was not for it's ability to change some blends for the better I would have regretted buying it. It marries well with cavendish and flakes for a unique smoke. ( Pipes used when smoked alone...briar, cob, bog and pear.)

Very nice aromatic
I would put this blend in the same family as the Creme Brulee and Vanilla Custard also sold by Sutliff. If you enjoy those two, you will likely appreciate this blend as well. It has a similar creamy flavor and room note with a hint of caramel.

Will be buying again
I agree with Dan L. Very nice tobacco. Nice aroma. Stays lit. Doesn't have a bite. All these are important to me as a new pipe smoker (4 months). Goes great with a clay pipe.

Great dessert tobacco
I don't smoke aromatics very often, but when I do, this is one of the only ones that I will smoke. This isn't a wet, gloopy highly cased aromatic that will clog up your pipe, but rather a lightly topped aromatic with hints of cream, caramel, and nuts that makes for a great after dinner smoke. So, on to the tin note, or should I say bag note. To me, this tobacco smells like an almond joy in the bag. You will again get notes of caramel, cream, a nuttiness or almost coconut smell, with maybe just a hint of a rum. The cut of the tobacco is a very uniform short ribbon which makes loading the pipe an easy task. The tobacco takes a light well as the moisture level is spot on perfect right out of the bag, again this is not a wet or gloopy aromatic. The taste of the tobacco is slightly sweet with hints of caramel or vanilla that reflect the creamy smell, but the nuttiness of the burley definitely shines through the most and seems to take center stage for the majority of the smoke. The taste of the smoke remains consistent from start to finish, so I wouldn't say that this is a very complex blend where the flavors are consistently evolving, but in my mind, this is exactly what I want in a dessert tobacco. I did not notice any tongue bite with this blend, but it is best sipped so that you can taste all of the different flavors that this has to offer. As for the room note, those around me mentioned that the smoke gave off the smell of vanilla, and most did not seem to be bothered by it in the least. The tobacco burned down to a fine gray powdery ash and did not leave the pipe fowled up or ghosted with any heavy smells or flavors. I have noticed that cleaning the pipe after smoking this blend is relatively simple, there is only the need to run a pipe cleaner through the stem once or twice just to remove any moisture from the stem itself. Overall, I have been very pleased with this aromatic and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sweet tobacco for dessert.

Good Aromatic
One of the only aromatics that I will smoke. I truly enjoy this blend and the best part is the tin note which reminds me of Almond Joys.
Customer Testimonials
A very smooth smoking tobacco with no tongue bite.. A definite caramel flavor with a hint nuttiness on the backside. Really good after a meal.
