Value Pipe Sale

Daughters & Ryan's VPB blends are economical American-style blends from a company known for top-notch tobaccos. With three flavors to offer that will be a great addition to your tobacco. The Red blend is rich and flavorful with sweet Virginias and mellow Burleys. The Blue blend uses mellower versions of these tobaccos for a gentler flavor. Green takes the blend to a different place by adding a cool, minty flavor. Now VPB Yellow joins the lineup. It's a smooth blend with some Turkish tobacco added for a rich, exotic flavor.

Great all around tobacco.

Nice flavor
Very enjoyable.I have tried numerous turkish tobaccos and this one seems to hit the spot. I wish it was priced like the other three tobaccos VPB offers.I do not know why they are asking over 5 dollars more for the yellow.

Giving it a try.
I have had a 4 tobacco blend for my RYO Zen tubes. I am trying the VPB blue in my 50% base mix, replacing 10% of it with VPB Blue. So far it is working well and cut back the harshness and changed the texture in a positive way with its ribbon cut.

Disappointing pipe tobacco
I bought two 16 oz. packages of pipe tobacco, Value Pipe Blend Red and Blue. I knew I was buying inexpensive tobacco, but I found both blends to look, smell and smoke more like cigarette tobacco than pipe tobacco. My wife, who has been with me and my pipes for thirty years, confirmed that it doesn't smell like pipe tobacco at all.

Bang for your buck
VPB pipe tobacco is a actually very smooth and ever so slightly aromatic, which surprised me for being a "value brand". This may become a regular purchase for me.

Good RYO tobacco. Also good to mix with your favorite pipe tobacco
Was looking for a good inexpensive RYO tobacco and this is it. Would have given 5 stars but this is the only RYO tobacco I've tried so nothing to really compare it with. I normally smoke Captain Black Gold in a pipe and this blue mixes well with it to cut costs when I find I'm running low on CB. This tobacco works well with filter tubes and a cigarette machine. I don't have the "fancy" words to describe it, it just makes a great cigarette, better than "store bought". I usually give a few to the Bass player in our band just to show him what a cigarette is supposed to taste like lol. Ordering another bag when I'm done writing this review.

Better than the rest, really
I give this 5 stars because I haven't tried another value priced tobacco that would even merit 3 stars. I know that in the RYO, MYO market price is an issue but D&R has brought quality to meet the price point. If you MYO and just smoke as a habit price may be the bottom line, but that doesn't mean you need to settle for an inferior smoking experience. VPB is a quality bulk brand that brings flavor and quality to your mundane smoking experience. Buy this. Check out the other D&R blends and find the one (or two, or three) that you love and spend a few dollars more for real enjoyment. I blend this 50/50 with Ryback and it is great. This will blow any other off the rack tobacco away.

Good quality for a lower price
This was such a surprise to me. I recently started to make my own cigarettes and was disappointed by the tobaccos I purchased locally. They were harsh and that was it. On discovering the Daughters & Ryan blends, I ordered a large number of samples of their blends and a bag of the VPB Red to try them out. The VPB Red blew the other junk I'd rolled with out of the water. It makes a nice, acceptable smoke that has some body and lacks that harshness that seemed to be the only characteristic of the "others". I've learned that this is the only product that D&R farms out to another company for production but what I got still showed a decent level of quality at this price point. It also has turned out to be a good base for extending the flavors of other D&R blends. I just got done doing a 50/50 with this and the last of my Picayune. It turned out great. Enjoy!
Customer Testimonials
2 Daughters VPB Red, is a fairly mellow tobacco, it's lighter than a lot of other companies blue, close in between the tobacco of Marlboro's Medium and light. The tobacco is fairly light on stems, but they are in there, however, tobacco dust is a major problem. from my 16oz bag, 4-6 oz of it is probably unusable dust. Guess this is why this costs $15 compared to D&Rs other blends at $23. I'll probably buy it again, useless dust aside, it's a pretty good RYO tobacco.
I'm enjoying the Red as we speak. Upon opening the bag, I noted a pleasant-and-smooth aroma with a subtle complexity from light fermentation, and just a hint of orange peel- and no "grassy/hay note" of sun-cured orientals to speak of... so, I'd agree this is mostly Virginia with a small amount of mild burley. I would place the strength of the Red at mild-medium (closer to medium)- a bit light for for my personal taste, but perfect as a base for blending with stronger offerings- or certainly good on its own if you prefer! Nice quality for the price- would buy again.
As always D&R doesn't disappoint; For the $, this's a staggeringly good smoke. The red tastes a lot like Vengeur, as I recall, with ~65% VA, the remainder being Burley (likely slightly inferior versions of Windsail and TwoTimer), with a moderate nicotine level but no bite and very, very smooth. The casing is notable in smell (like a liquer), but doesn't affect the taste. It's practically stem free, a bit dry for a pipe but just right for tubes.
