I'm glad I decided to purchase this lighter. Excellent job lighting my pipes. A much appreciated upgrade from zippo lighters. Not saying zippos are bad, but this is better.

It has a built in tamper which works, if just barely. it has a healthy flame which is nice.

It’s hard to stay lit in the wind. I’m actually surprised when I discover a slight breeze doesn’t keep the flame going. I have to block the wind often with my hand or hat. This made it tricky at times while golfing. But nonetheless, I enjoy the design and it works for me. I was able to smoke my little corn pipe through 18 holes while continually refilling my pipe with this lighter.

This is a very good and solidly built lighter. I had a different brand 'knockoff' of this lighter, that I paid $15 for. It worked well for about three or four weeks, then the spring that holds the flint against the spark wheel lost its tension, making it impossible to spark unless the spring was taken out and stretched back out several times per refill. The flip up cap also felt loose fitting, and kept getting looser. The flame height adjustment was very sensitive, and hard to adjust properly. It is another example of "you get what you pay for", the Xicar version of this type of lighter has very tight fitting parts, the flame height is very smooth and easy to adjust, and the flint spring doesn't lose its tension over time. It lights up on the first spark, and the flame height holds true and doesn't wonder. It is good looking lighter, and has a lifetime guarantee. After going through several less expensive refillable lighters, my new Xikar pipe lighter has exceeded my expectations, and feels like it will last indefinitely.

Lighter work well but doesn’t holed much Butane

Absolutely a great purchase. It fired up first time and I've been using it a bunch and not a miss-fire. Great price and beats the heck out of a lot of high dollar lighter. Plus, the lifetime Xikar warranty... what is there not to like?

So far this lighter has worked every time I used it unlike some of my other lighters. Has a great feel and is well made.

Looks beautiful, worked amazingly and it’s a Xikar with a lifetime warranty. What more do you really need at a fantastic price?

For the money, you can’t beat it. I love the forty-five degree pitch of the flame and it lights with little effort. The case feels a little cheap and I’m not a huge fan of the chrome look but I would definitely recommend this lighter.

Got this as a less expensive option to the Peterson and old boy. Heavy weight lights great and classy look. Won't be disappointed.

It looks great! It works well enough if there isn’t any wind. I had a slight breeze one day and could barely light my pipe. That was frustrating.

Very innovative and convenient, easy to adjust flame and built in tool.

I tend to lean toward the Xikar products because of the lifetime warranty and he incredible customer service. The Pipeline arrived as a little disappointment. At the highest setting I still couldn’t get much more than a 1/4” flame. I only use the Xikar Purofine butane in my lighters. I’ve found it to be consistently problem free. So I knew that wasn’t my problem. I emptied and refilled the lighter numerous times (following Xikar’s instructions). Still the flame was just weak. I contacted Xikar’s customer service department and quickly received a reponce from Ken. A super-easy set of instructions for adjusting the governor in the gas control. Easy-peasy and the lighter works perfectly now. Very happy with my purchase.

Waited to write a review until I had some use with it. After 6 months of using daily, very happy with the lighter. Everything works properly, fit and finish good, and with lifetime warranty not concerned. If feels good in the hand, and looks classy IMO. It actually weighs more than my zippo, so it is not flimsy at alll. I use this as an indoor lighter only however. It does not withstand even the slightest breeze outdoors, which is OK, I use a Zippo with pipe insert exclusively outside.

I have another lighter of this style that cost about three times what this one costs. The higher cost lighter is an excellent product, this lighter is just as good and with Xikar's guaranty it is a far better value. This is simply a good lighter at a great price.

Accidently dropped it immediately after fueling onto a stone patio. Hardly any damage to exterior. Works great every time, no problems. On board tamper/pick is good for shallower bowls. For deeper bowls use a regular pipe tool.

I accidently dropped mine onto a stone patio on day one; works great every time I light it. The on board tamper/pick is good for smaller bowls - best to have a 3-in-1 tool for larger bowls.

I've had this lighter for about a year and absolutely love it! I've only had to replace the flint. I couldn't find which flint fit it and called Xikar. They told me and later that day I went out and got my replacement! I use the Xikar lighter fluid and have never had a problem. It's a great lighter at a great price. All of my cigar cutter are Xikar, and I've only had a problem with a punch, and they replaced it no questions asked.

I should have purchased one years ago no more burnt fingers

I really like this lighter. It is stylish and lights well. My only complaint is that I can already tell that at some point it will have to go back to Xikar for some parts to be tightened up, or I may just do it myself.
