Xikar Resource II Lighter

The original Xikar Resource has been one of our best-selling pipe lighters, ever. We're really pleased to see the new Resource II with some updated features, making this version even more functional than before, with a new streamlined appearance. It has an easy operating piezo electric ignition system which doesn't require a flint. The shape feels very secure and comfortable in the hand, and it has a swing out tamper and scraper, so you don't have to carry a pipe tool with you. The Resource II also has a fuel cell window and a larger adjustment wheel than the previous version.

Fine lighter for any pipe.Stays

Fine lighter for any pipe.Stays lit but fuel is used up too quickly. Handsome design lends good taste.

Consistently lights every time

Love it. Consistently lights every time. Flame adjustment is easier to use without needing a tool... (you can flip down a little metal thing and turn it easily with your fingers). Refills are easier now that you can see the level of fluid through the new window on the side. It's my new favorite, the first lighter I grab, and delivers a perfect soft flame every time. Kudos Xikar!

Great pipe lighter. Works well in normal wind and holds a large amount of fluid. The indicator on the side of the lighter keeps the owner aware of when the fluid is running low. A great lighter that well worth the money.

Faulty Electronic Igniter

Currently own two but have returned three others for defective electronic igniters. I agree with another comment regarding the defective finish as well. Yes, they always seem to chip and lose paint. But I've rated this lighter as a 4 star because 1) when it works, it's great! and 2) when it doesn't, the brick and mortar stores ask no questions when I walk in (with or without a receipt). They check out the faulty lighter and immediately replace it with a brand new one. Xikar clearly stands behind this product!

I bought this at a brick and mortar. I like it. I've dropped it 5 times from 3 feet with no loss of function (unbelievably). The "burlwood" is plastic, but I like it because it reminds me of bakelite (think AK-47). When it breaks (I drop things), I will buy another one.

Defective Finish

Recently purchased this lighter, and am very pleased with its design, heft, and the way that it works. However, the black finish on the lighter started coming off the first week I used it. This shouldn't happen on a lighter of this quality, and that is the reason I have down-graded it from five stars.
