Padilla Serie 1968
Here's the return of one of the blends that put Padilla on the map - Padilla Serie 1968.
When Ernesto Padilla created this outstanding blend, he knew it was something special, so he wanted to give it a name with significance. So he called It Padilla Serie 1968 to commemorate the year his father, Herberto, was arrested for writing anti-Castro poetry.
Though these cigars come from Tabacalera Aguilar in Honduras, this is a Nicaraguan puro, and a very special one, at that. The wrapper is a chestnut brown Nicaraguan Corojo which envelops a rich blend of Corojo and Criollo long-fillers. There are a bevy of bold flavors like espresso, earth, sweet wood, spice and pepper, with hints of cream and citrus on the finish. What's really amazing is that the price today is about the same as it was when it was first discontinued.
