The large cigar companies have a lot of advantages, but they often stick to a formula for producing cigars. Since the nineties, a lot of new companies have come into being that produce cigars in smaller batches. The biggest advantage they have is that they often take chances in innovation. They're not always winners, but a number of the more successful larger makers started out as boutique brands, so we've put together a bunch of cigars from companies that we think have a chance to become big names. We get sent a lot of samples from smaller companies. A number turn out so-so or worse, but every so often we get some that open our eyes and make us crave more. That's what you're seeing here. So if you haven't tried these brands, it's time to broaden your horizons.
