Hearth & Home Slow-Aged Bright Night

Hearth & Home has been a staple here at P&C and we know our Faithful are big fans. We decided to expand the line and bring to you a new series - Slow-Aged. Bright Virginia is made of all Virginia that has two important things that are impacting the flavor of the tobacco - time and pressure. The blend is pressed in cakes and transferred into a holding press for 30 days. What this does is make the flavor of the tobacco deeper, richer and even smoother. Hearth & Home Slow-Aged Bright Virginia will be nothing you have experienced before and you will be pleased with the result.

I love ALL of the
I love ALL of the slow aged hearth and home tobacco. The blends are great, smokey Latakia and the flavor and room notes are superior.

Zesty with a touch of spice
I love the taste of a zesty and smoothed slow aged Virginia. It was a cool smoke with a little bit of spice. I was actually surprised to read that there was no perique in the blend because of the slight peppery note. All in all a great tobacco and I will definitely be add to my cellared tins.

Hearth&Home Bright Night is a
Hearth&Home Bright Night is a very enjoyable complementary addition to my other favorite tobaccos Orlik Golden Sliced and Peterson Flake. Slightly softer though. Highly recommend.

There’s no chance of bite
There’s no chance of bite or harshness present. The strength is a couple of steps past the center of mild to medium, and the taste nearly reaches the medium mark. The plug is moderately moist, and is ready to smoke when you open the tin. No matter how you prepare this easily broken apart plug, it burns cool, clean and a tad slow with a very consistent, lightly creamy, mildly sweet and very slightly savory, floral flavor that translates to the pleasantly lingering after taste and room note. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires some relights. Can easily be an all day smoke.

I love Virginias. This was so good, so smooth, I wished I bought more to cellar. Nice cake to rub out, few relights, I just sat in my chair for an hour wishing it wouldn’t end.

Maybe Too Smooth
This one is hard to nail down at the moment. Smoked it twice, but find it somewhat allusive. It is mild in flavor with a moderate nic hit. Very well rounded true tobacco taste to the point of being almost, can I say, boring? It tastes quality and has a slight fermented quality; there are darker earth, wood, and fig-like notes. It is almost like a mild cigar with an aged wrapper. Letting it cellar to see what develops. Maybe part of my confusion is that this range is marketed with wintertime themes and packaging, but I find that the mild presentation of the flavor does not stand up against the cold (I smoke outside in Chicago). I will revisit when the weather warms to see what I discover.

Good beginner smoke
Very mild smoke, but kept getting a little pirouette note. Love all the other slow aged blends. Maybe just too mellow for my pallet

Top Shelf
Best Virginia I’ve smoked. Deep and earthy with a tang of sweetness. Packs and lights easily. Very satisfying with enough nic to please anyone, but not so much to put off those with a low tolerance. Great as the last smoke of the day.

Light and sweet.
Bright Night is another great blend by Russ Oulette and the H&H team. This one is very light and a bit sweet. It's a great blend especially for the beginner.
